WBC heavyweight champion Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder defends his title against Cuban contender Luis Ortiz on Saturday 3rd March at the Barclays Center in New York City. The undefeated boxers were originally scheduled to fight last year before Ortiz failed a VADA drugs test.
Deontay Wilder made his sixth successful title defense against Bermane Stiverne at the Barclays Center in November. Wilder (39-0) brutalised Stivern before knocking the Canadian out in the opening round.
Former WBA interim heavyweight champion Luis Ortiz (28-0, 24 KOs) made quick work of Daniel Martz in December when he returned from suspension for his failed drugs test. The undefeated Cuban stopped Martz in 43-seconds of round one.
