The legendary Mirko Cro Cop will make his Bellator debut against Roy “Big Country” Nelson at Bellator 200 on Friday 25th May at the SSE Arena, Wembley in London, England. The heavyweight knockout artists previously fought at UFC 137 in 2011. Big Country used his grappling skills to ground-and-pound the former K-1 World Grand Prix champion for the finish in the third round. The loss ended Cro-Cop’s second stint in the UFC and sent him back to K-1 and Japanese Mix Martial Arts.
Mirko Cro Cop (36–11–2-1 NC) is currently on an 8-fight winning streak in MMA competition. The Croatian won the 2016 Rizin Open-Weight Grand Prix when he knocked out Amir Aliakbari in the finals. The Grand Prix saw Cro Cop pick up impressive wins against Hyun Man Myung, Muhammed Lawal, and Baruto Kaito.
Roy Nelson (21-15) made his Bellator debut with a unanimous decision win against Javy Ayala at Bellator 183. Nelson’s second Bellator fight was another rematch from his UFC stint against Matt Mitrione. Big Country was eliminated from the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix after losing a majority decision against Mitrione in February.
