Southern Area Cruiserweight Champion Wadi Camacho will defend his title against the dangerous Jose “The Look” Lopes on Saturday 23rd September at York Hall in London. The pair will be quite familiar with each other when they step into the ring at York Hall, having sparred in the past and both once training under the tutelage of Don Charles.
Camacho will be looking to rebound after a failed attempt at challenging for the vacant English Cruiserweight title in July. Wadi was stopped by the undefeated Arfan Iqbal in the fourth round via TKO. The former Prizefighter winner picked up the vacant Southern Area Cruiserweight title in March when he defeated Karl Wheeler via TKO in the fifth round.
Lopes is a former Angolan Amateur International with an 8-1 professional boxing record, who is currently based at the Selby Boxing Club in North London. The 27-year old has racked up four knockouts in his professional career and earned valuable experience sparring the likes of Nathan Cleverley and Tony Conquest. Lopes stopped Milan Cechvala in his last bout at York Hall in July.
