Groves vs. Eubank Jr Post-Fight Press Conference

WBA (Super) super-middleweight George Groves defeated Chris Eubank Jr to capture the IBO super-middleweight title and advance to the World Boxing Super Series finals on Saturday at the Manchester Arena, Manchester. Groves will now face the winner of the World Boxing Super Series semi-final bout between Callum Smith vs. Juergen Braehmer on Saturday 24th February.

The boxing world was quick to respond to the George Groves vs. Chris Eubank Jr result on social media. WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders was one of the first to take aim at Eubank’s loss. The fighters have been locked in a bitter rivalry since Billy Joe Saunders handed Eubank Jr his first professional loss in 2014. Former IBF super-middleweight champion James DeGale also sent shots at Team Eubank. The pair has gone back and forth on social media since Chris Eubank claimed his son got the better of DeGale in sparring sessions.

Easy nights work for Groves last night imo. Completely outboxed Eubank and he was on a different level. Jab on point from Groves like always and power that made Eubank think about taking chances,which i know from personal experience. Fitness and chin was there from Eubank but no plan B and was just swinging wild, smothering his work and it was too little too late. Disappointed after all the hype but predicted the outcome.
