Rio Ferdinand is making the massive leap from the football field into the squared circle and launching a new career as a professional boxer. The former Manchester United and England defender has been retired two years from football.
The 38-year-old has partnered up with betting company Betfair for the event being built as Defender To Contender
“I’m doing this because it’s a challenge,” he said. “I’ve won titles and now I’m aiming for a belt.”
